Now, when a large surfing wave has a width that exceeds its length, then it is what they call a square wave.

On the other hand, the speed of big surfing waves plays an important role as well, if the angle of peel line is somewhere around thirty degrees, then these are the fast massive surfing waves. If the angle of such surfing waves is around forty five degrees, then it is considered to be of medium speed. The slow surfing waves are those measuring only sixty degrees or more.

It features medium speed round wave in the Ehukai Beach Park of Pupukea of O’ahu's. Some of the slow surf breaks are that of Shark Island in Australia and Angourie Point.
